A key to our success as a store is our volunteers. Do you have some hours each week or month that you could "donate" in helping us with the store? Bring a friend and minister together! We have a huge need right now for people to come and help us sort through donations. Even if you can come "just once in a while" - we'd appreciate the help!
The process of becoming a volunteer is simple:
1) Contact us at 612-706-3223 and set up a time during regular business hours to come to the store. We will be happy to accomodate your schedule! Right now, we particularly need volunteers who are interested in working in the backroom, sorting items, pricing items, and hanging up clothes. It doesn't take long to "learn the ropes" and you'll be "processing goods" in no time!
Ones who are joyful in God and willing to serve Him by helping us! Practically we need help in the following areas:
Greeter:
This person loves people. Welcoming customers, giving directions, answering store policy questions and thanking our shoppers as they leave, are just some of the responsibilities involved. A critical part of theft deterrent and security, this person will need to be quite aware of the customers as they enter and leave the store. The ability to stand on your feet for a number of hours is also necessary.
Cashier:
A love of people and the ability to handle money is essential for this position. Greeting customers, helping with customer needs, wants and questions, as well as being accountable for money is a large and integral part of this position. Knowing store policies and merchandise selection is also important.
Sales Associate:
This position requires a love for people. Welcoming customers, assisting in merchandise selection, merchandising & organizing the selling floor, filling-in stock, straightening, sizing & pricing merchandise as well as doing light housekeeping responsibilities are all included in this position. The ability to stand on your feet for a number of hours is necessary.
Warehouse Processing/Stock Person:
This position requires a love for detail & a “critical eye”. Sorting through donated items and assessing the sale-ability of these items is crucial. Hanging, cleaning, light repair, ticketing and pricing are just some of the responsibilities involved. Assisting with stock room organization and efficiency, as well as light housekeeping is necessary. This position also requires the ability to stand on your feet for a number of hours.
Repair Person:
This person loves to fix things. The ability to inspect an item, know what is wrong with it or why it is not working, as well as how to fix it, and where to find “the part” is essential. Items may include furniture, small appliances and household knick-knacks.
Janitorial/Housekeeping:
The gift of a critical eye and a passion for a clean store is what this position requires. The responsibility includes cleaning the sales floor, back-room processing areas, office, break room and bathrooms. Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, emptying garbage cans, changing light fixtures, and wiping down windows are just some of what is needed. Occasional heavy-duty cleaning may be required, such as shampooing the carpet and washing down walls.
Volunteer Coordinator(s):
Promoting the passion and purpose for this ministry with the intent of recruiting volunteers to fill various ministry positions is what this position will entail. A love for people and great communication skills is needed. Volunteers needed for all church campus locations.
One-Time/Special Event Volunteers:
Many energetic volunteers will be needed for special events such as donation drives, initial store set-up, and neighborhood promotional flyer “blitzes” to name a few.
Donation Truck Driver:
A good driving record, ability to lift heavy furniture and a passion for helping people are needed for this position.
